Anna "Ann" was born October 1, 1931, to Simon and Clara (Mitchem) Purdue in Newburgh, Indiana Oct 1, 1931.

Anna Mae Purdue married Hobart Burdin, Jr. on July 30th, l948, after he returned from World War II.

Her husband, Hobart, was ordained as a General Baptist Minister on Aug. 30, 1958. Hobert pastored churches in Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Florida for 45
years, and also served as an interim pastor at numerous churches. In addition, he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 10 years while in Indiana and Florida.

Ann was active in the Missionary Society and helped establish a Children’s Church in many of the churches she attended with Hobert. She was honored to have Otter Creek General Baptist Church name their Missionary Society in Honor of her. Ann loved God and loved to sing and read poems in church when her health would allow. She was a great support to Hobert and was loved by many throughout their ministry.

Anna was a faithful wife standing by his side throughout his entire adult life. They were married for sixty-five years.

She enjoyed crocheting and fishing.

Ann loved her family.

Until her entrance into eternity, Ann was a member of South Friendship General Baptist Church.

Anna Mae Burdin (Purdue) passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital on July 15th at 1 am.

She is survived by 4 daughters and one son: Carol Clark of Boonville, Indiana; Brenda Nix and Becky Knipp of Chandler, Ind.; Randy Burdin of Tennyson, Ind.; Teresa (Joe) McBride of Blair, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren: Scott Clark, Ryan Nix, Robert Nix, Rodney Nix of Boonville; Aaron Burdin, Christen Burdin of Boise, Idaho; Jennifer McBride, Jessica McBride, Sarah (Erik) Taylor, Emily McBride, David McBride of Blair, Nebraska; 6 great-grandchildren: Meagan (Zack) Miller of Evansville, Ind.; Kristopher Nix, Trevor Nix of Boonville; Heather Choate of Birdseye, Ind.; Dustin Clark of Boonville; Dalton Clark of Grandview,Ind.; Joseph Taylor of Blair, NE; 3 great-great-grandchildren: Paxton and Max Miller of Evansville, Ind. and Brianna Choate of Birdseye.

Visitation will be 2-8 pm Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Koehler Funeral Home, 304 E. Main St, Boonville, Indiana. Funeral service 2 pm Sunday, July 19, at the funeral home, with burial in Hackelman Cemetery in Spencer County. Rev. Tony Seale & Rev. Bob Carr will be conducting the funeral and offering words of comfort.
