Elva Pulsipher, 97, of Boulder City, died July 13. She was born May 26, 1912, in Salt Lake City and was a 77-year resident of Nevada.
It was the depths of the Depression and Pulsipher came to Nevada to help her sister, Billie Benson, whose husband, Taft, was working in the mines in southern Nevada. Elva and Billie had the responsibility of feeding the miners. This is where she met her husband-to-be, Dean Pulsipher. They were married on Nov. 5, 1932.
Elva was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught for 55 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; sisters Lucile Benson and June Stock; brothers, Earl and Paul Frampton; and niece, Jan Grant, who taught school in Boulder City for many years.
Services were held on July 18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boulder City.
Bunkers Mortuary handled the arrangements.
