Davis High School graduate Ora Maye Thompson, 82, died at her home in Youngtown, Ariz. on Nov. 1, 2001. Memorial services will be held at First Southern Baptist Church in Sun City, Ariz., on Nov. 19. She was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cyprus, Calif.
Mrs. Thompson was born Sept. 11, 1919, in Davis to Carrie and Cecil Pullen. She attended East Central State Teachers College in Ada and Southeastern State Teachers College in Durant. She married Wildon R. Thompson on June 28, 1942, at Davis and they transferred to Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, where she majored in business education and minored in religious education. She was church organist and pianist and wrote words and music for children's songs. She also sang in her church choir. She enjoyed traveling and had attended every Baptist meeting in Glorietta since it was started.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 12, 1984; her parents; two brothers, Walker Pullen and G.W. Pullen, both of Davis, and her twin sister, Jessie Fae Staats of Oklahoma City. Survivors include her son, David R. Thompson of Wellington, Nev.; her daughter, Rebecca Jane Pozsgai of Viejo, California; four grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Pullen of Davis, and two sisters, Ruth Mancebo of Ada and Mary Sue Roberts of Roff.
