Tillie Mildred Skelton (1921 - 2011)
Tillie Mildred Skelton, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at a local hospital. Celebration of life: 3 p.m. Saturday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel, with Brother Clyde Glazner officiating. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park under the auspices of the OES, Fort Worth Chapter 684. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Tillie was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Farmersville to Lawrence and Mary Pullen. She had been a resident of Bedford for more than 35 years and was a longtime member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church. She was an intelligent, hard-working and deeply loving woman. Her family affectionately recalls her life as being like a "worker bee," always busy working with worthwhile causes. Her interests included membership in the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Red Hat Society. She was also a consummate cook. Her delicious cakes brought in thousands for fundraising activities over the years. She was deeply loved by her family and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors: Her husband of 68 years, W.A. "Bill" Skelton; daughter, Sandi Ryan and her husband, Bill; son, Andy Skelton and his wife, June; grandchildren, Gene Trammell, Becky Hargreaves, Andy Skelton Jr., Clinton and Mallary Ryan; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
