Ruby Jane Benton, 65, of St. Simons Island, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her residence.

A service will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 6 in the evening in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Longshore officiating.

The family will also be having a service at Little Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, Georgia on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 1 PM in their chapel.

Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Gainesville, Georgia.

Ms. Ruby was born August 17, 1947 to the late William and Pearl Puckett in Gainesville, Georgia. Leaving Gainesville, she came to St. Simons Island where she worked as a Seafood Manager at Winn Dixie for 26 years. She was affiliated with Revival Center Church of Jesus Christ, and was baptized there.

Survivors include her husband: Bob Benton; two children: Keith Benton (Debbie) of Brunswick and Vicky Smith of St. Simons Island; four grandchildren: Ashlynn, Wesley, Avery and Branton; three sisters: Frances Brown, Faye Collins and Ann Burgess; one brother: Jimmy Sumner; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Arrangements are under the direction of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home of Brunswick, GA and Little Davenport Funeral Home of Gainesville, GA.
