Alana Louise Provence, 59, of Waco, formerly Wills Point, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2009. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 10, at First Baptist Church in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Alana Louise was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late John William Wilson and Lois Jane Parsons Wilson. The family moved to Dallas for a time and at the age of 10 and in the 5th grade, "Momma Lois" moved her family to Wills Point. Alana graduated from Wills Point High School, Class of '67, where she was very active as a cheerleader, band and orchestra, Homecoming Duchess and Editor in Chief of the Tiger annual. Nurtured by her loving mother, Lois, Alana's spiritual life was not neglected, as she and her sisters were very involved with church activities at First Baptist Church of Wills Point. After graduation, she attended Draughn's Business School and became an Executive Administrative Assistant at First National Bank in Dallas. Ultimately, she moved back to Wills Point where she was Administrative Assistant for several years to the President of First National Bank in Wills Point. Alana culminated her business career by working for her brother-in-law, Perry Bodin at Bodin Concrete in Rockwall, Texas. In the fall of 1994, she began a romance that ultimately lasted a lifetime with a former classmate and dear friend, Tim Provence. The romance turned to love and they married on April 8, 1995, at Highland Baptist Church in Waco, where they made their church home a family. Alana loved planting flowers in the springtime and decorating her home to perfection.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Provence, of Waco; sons, Jason Wilson, of Waco and Tommy Provence, of Austin; daughters, Cammy Davis and husband, Leon, of Royce City, Texas, and Tricia Provence and fiancÚ, James Lyons, of Waco; grandchildren, Kloee Wilson and twins, Kaylee Grace Davis and Jenna Riley Davis; sisters, Loretta Myers, of Rockwall, Charlotte Bodin and husband, Perry, of Rockwall and Linda McKnight, of Garland; brother, Freeman Hoyt Parsons, of Canton; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
