On September 5, 1937, in Caruthersville, Mo., she was united in marriage to Mr. James Edward Abbott. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1993.
She was very active, loyal, and dedicated member of the Cottonwood Point Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Wayne Abbott and three brothers, Leon, Horace and Odis Privett.
Survivors include: one son, Don Abbott of Crawsfordsville, Ark.; two granddaughters, Vickie Nix of Memphis, Tn. and Donna Higgins of West Memphis, Ark.; one great grandson, Harrison Bayley Nix of Memphis, Tn.; three sisters, Hazel Clark of Cottonwood Point, Mo., Laverne Privett of St. Louis, Mo. and Louise Davis of Bragg City, Mo.
Services were held November 17, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Cottonwood Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Johnson, Mike Maynard, John Earl Dunavant and Dave Lewelling officiating. Burial was in the Maple Cemetery.
