Mrs. Maria (Pringle) Paul, wife of Elias Paul, one of the best known residents of this city, died at her late residence, #722 Franklin Street, at 12:01 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Paul had been in poor health for over a year, but it was not until two weeks ago that she was confined to her bed. Death was due to a complication of diseases.

She was born in Croyle Township sixty-eight years ago, was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Pringle, of that place. Her father died in 1891, but her mother, now eighty-seven years of age, is still alive, making her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hess, of Wilmore. The deceased became the wife of Elias Paul on February 3, 1859. Some years later the Pauls moved to Johnstown, where they have since resided.

Besides her husband and her mother, Mrs. Paul is survived by the following sons and daughters: James L., of Chicago; Samuel W., of #720 Franklin Street; William H., of Somerset; J. Wallace, Esq., of #800 Franklin Street; the Rev. D. Melroy, of East Falmouth, Mass., and Laura, widow of Stewart A. Hill, of #730 Horner Street. These brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Margaret Palmer, of Conemaugh; Anna, wife of George Bickford, also of Conemaugh, and Jane, wife of Samuel Hess, of Wilmore, mentioned above, together with fourteen grandchildren and a great-grandchild, William Stewart Gocher, son of William and Bessie (Hill) Gocher, of this city.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Paul residence at 2 o'clock Mobday afternoon by the Rev. William T. Colliver, of the Franklin Street M. E. Church, of which the deceased was a member. Interment will be made in Grandview Cemetery.
