Delora Prince Hoel, 91, of Clifton, died Friday. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton with the Rev. Laird Duran officiating, assisted by Pastor B.I. Dahl and the Rev. John Chatalas. Burial will follow at Valley Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Clifton Funeral Home, Clifton, Texas.
Delora Wallace Prince was born in Walnut Springs, Texas, the first of eight children born to the late Alvin and Byrtle Prince. Dee was married to Harlan Hoel, who died in 1995. She has enjoyed a long and loving relationship with his children. Delora lived a long life in service to others in the field of nursing and was a well-loved and respected member of the community.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Peggy Joe Goodwin and Bobby Rauhuig.
Survivors include daughters, Nancy Swenson Chatalas and husband, John, of Portland, Ore., and Rosemary Swenson, of Waco; step-children, Mike Hoel and wife, Anne and their children, Marshall and Grace, Tim Hoel and wife, Wanda and Anita Hoel Hoff and husband, John; brothers, Alvin Hill Prince and wife, Madge, of Azell, Bill Prince and wife, Nadine, of China Spring, and Victor Prince and wife, Lula Mae, of Granbury; brother-in-law, Arthur Hoel, of Benbrook; sisters, Juanita Dunn, of Dallas, and Eva Lee Schultz and husband, H. V., of Clifton; sister-in-law, Vernellea Conner, of Lakewood, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews including, Amy Whitney Weir and her husband, Jason, of Clifton, who have been her caregivers for the last several years.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Dunn, Dave Rachuig, Mike Hoel, Tim Hoel, Jason Weir, and John Hoff. Honorary pallbearers include, Alvin Prince, Bill Prince, Victor Prince, Marshall Hoel, Wayne Schultz, Timothy Prince, Bill Goodwyn, Craig Prince, Fern Wiggins, Jack Wiggins, Dr. Don Gloff, Dr. William Key, Dr. Richard Spitzer, Charlotte Turner, Curtis Allen, Jerry Allen, Gary Swenson, and Ron Swenson.
