Mary Louise Shelton Prince is the daughter of Jonathan Jahue Shelton and Amanda Land Shelton. Mary married Fred Prince June 4, 1883.
Granny Prince Dies at Belton
Funeral in Nolan Valley this afternoon;
Death ended 3-year illness
Belton, August 19 – Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Shelton Cemetery in Nolan Valley for Mrs. Mary Lou Prince, 81, who died this morning at 6:00 a.m. at her home, 6 miles NW of Belton, after 3 years of ill health.
Granny Prince, as she was called by all who knew her, was born in Smith County, Texas, April 9, 1855. She came to Bell County soon after the Civil war, and was married to Henry Prince in 1883. Her husband died in 1898.
She is survived by one son, Burke Prince of Holbrook, Arizona; one daughter, Mrs. George Warren of Belton, 6 grandchildren, Mrs. H. D. Thompson, Churchill Warren and Lawrence Warren of Belton, Burke Edward, Winona and Mary Lee Prince of Arizona; and 2 great-grandchildren, Betty Joyce and Charles Thompson of Belton.
