Retired Farmer Had Been Ill With Gangrene for Several Months
Funeral Thursday Morning
George W. Primmer, age 76, died at his home, 401 South Columbia Street at 4:15 o'clock this morning, an illness of several months. On November 12th he submitted to an operation on his foot to combat.
gangrene but the operation was unsuccessful. He was a retired farmer and was widely known over the county.
Deceased was a native of Ohio, having been born March 20, 1847, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Peter Primmer. When he grew to young manhood he was united in marriage to Miss Miranda Mooney. He retired from the farm a number of years ago and moved to town establishing his residence on South Columbia Street..
He was a member of the Methodist Protestant church, of this city.
He is survived by three sons, Lee and Clarence of this city and Clifton, residing in Cutler. Two brothers and one sister also survive. Mart and the sister reside at Watseka, Illinois and Francis resides near Lafayette.
His boyhood friend in Ohio, Frank Pletch, lies dead across the street from the Primmer's house having expired yesterday morning. The men were neighbors in the same town in Ohio.
Funeral services will be held from the residence Thursday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. Fred Clark officiating. Interment will be at Ball Hill cemetery in Carroll County.
