Edna Price Gannon

Easton – Edna Price Gannon died peacefully on May 11, 2010 at William Hill Gardens. She was 96.
Born in Easton on December 31, 1913, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Clara Andrew Price. She attended Hailem Grade School and graduated from Easton High School as a member of the class of 1930. She then married Henry D. Gannon. The couple lived at three farms surrounding Easton, the last being MacDonald Farm. In addition to working as a bookkeeper and homemaker, she partnered with her husband in their farm operation.
Mrs. Gannon's first pride was in her family. She also took great interest in flower gardening and cooking, and playing the piano and organ. She enjoyed traveling, particularly senior bus trips.
She was a faithful, life-long member of First Baptist Church in Easton, participating actively as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, pianist and Senior Prime Timer. She was active in Farm Bureau, Homemakers' Club, Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Association and Talbot County Women's Club.
She is survived by her son, Cecil H. Gannon, and his wife Sylvia; her brother, Melvin Price, and his wife, Hazel; her grandsons: Glen C. Gannon, and his wife, Lynne, Greg J. Gannon, and his wife, Barbara, and Gary D. Gannon and his wife, Kathy; her granddaughter, Celeste G. Pyper, and her husband, Tom; her great-grandchildren: Kristen Gannon, Marla Gannon Best, Jennifer Kellner, Tara Gannon, Bret Gannon, Alicia Gannon, Morgan Gannon Hawks, Kyle Gannon, Nick Pyper, 2nd Lt., U.S. Marine Corps, Laura Pyper, and Abby Pyper; her great, great-grandchildren, Grant Henry Kirby and Rhyan Lynne Kirby; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, who passed away in 1992, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Thelma Louise, who passed away in 1943 at the age of 10; and her brothers, Maurice Price and Owen Price.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 17 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Easton, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Easton.
