Joseph Alfred Price, a resident of Belen, New Mexico, has left to go to the big meeting in the sky after 81 years of helping others. His wife was the love of his life and he was hers.

He was a gruff honey bear to some and an angel to others. His greatest achievement was helping others get sober and be able to live happy, successful lives. He had the ability to be tough when called for and unbelievingly gentle when needed.

He was a WWII veteran, who proudly served his country in US Navy and was one of his country's most patriotic men. In 1944 Joe joined the Navy at the tender age of 17 and on March 9th , 1945, he was awarded a Certificate of Graduation by the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Navy Department, Washington, D.C. and was a Navy Corpsman attached to the Marine Corp. Joseph served in the South Pacific Campaign and was involved in the invasion of Iowa Jima and Saipan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyda Marie Chadderdon and Joseph H. Price; and his son, Chad Price.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Barbara Price; two loving daughters, Carolyn Price and Lise Murphy; and three grandchildren, Steven Schneickert and Thomas and Arwyn Murphy; and his beloved dogs, Shadow and Dazzle.
