Born Christopher Mark Ibbotson-Price, he had a Roman Catholic education, which was followed by studies at the University of Reading before leaving to enroll in 1991 in the BBC training program. He started in radio before advancing to television. He died at home alone from meningoencephalitis as a complication of an ear infection.
