DEATH OF J. HENRY PRICE.
John Henry Price, one of the best known residents of this city, passed away at his home, 72 East North street, at 5 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. He had been confined to his residence for the past six months, after being taken with the grip and later being stricken with two paralytic strokes. The past few days he had been worse than usual and sank steadily until his death. The end was peaceful. Deceased was a German by birth and was born in Hamburg, Jan. 9, 1834, and was 66 years of age. In this city he worked for contractors M. B. Houpt, K T. Long and Philip Haire for the past twenty years. Deceased is survived by five children, his wife having died two years ago. The children are: Fred H. Price, formerly proprietor of the Luzerne House, and the only son; Mary, wife of John Worman of West Pittston; Louisa, wife of George Geiselman; Lizzie and Annie, both single, of this city.
The funeral will be held from the residence, 72 East North street, at 2:30 on Thursday afternoon, with services by Rev. Dr William L. Hunton of St. John's English Lutheran Church, and interment in the City Cemetery.
