He was raised in Paris where he attended Emerson Elementary School and graduated from Fielding High School in 1959.
After High School Douglas's interest in working with the FBI was his greatest priority. He worked at investigating and trying to prevent crime.
He married Blanka Hornbogen and went on with his chosen career. He was on a team where a shoot-out occurred. As he was in the car calling for backup, he was shot in the back of the head ending his short career Apr. 25, 1968 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.
He was brought home to Paris where a grieving family held services for him, and he was buried in the Paris Cemetery the same day.
Douglas was a member of the LDS Church and was returned to his Heavenly Home at an early age. He was greatly missed by family and friends.
