Pauline Marie (Pribble) Brungard, 90, formerly of Muncy and North Fort Myers, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at the Williamsport Home.
Born May 28, 1922, in Petroleum, W.Va., and raised in Woolrich, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Ella (Rogers) Pribble. Her husband of 46 years, Kenneth R. Brungard, died Sept. 12, 1996.
A member of the 1940 class of Lock Haven High School, she later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lycoming College in 1950. From 1943 until 1946 she served in the U.S. Navy, where she was among the first group of women in the Navy (WAVES) and was a veteran of World War II.
Pauline worked as a student loan coordinator at Lycoming College until retiring after more than 25 years of service. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Muncy and was currently a member of First Church United Methodist in Williamsport. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing the organ and cross stitching. She especially enjoyed the time she spent working on family scrapbooks. Pauline looked forward to every opportunity to travel, and more than anything she loved her family very much.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Sally Brungard, of Birdsboro, and Robert and Amphan Brungard, of Bloomingdale, N.J.; one daughter and son-in-law, Lenora and Jeff Caskey, of Williamsport; one brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Ellen Pribble, of Woolrich; one sister-in-law, Marian Brungard, of Williamsport; seven grandchildren, Jay, Danny, Ron, Renee, Matthew, Emily and Pamela; and three great-grandchildren, Themis, Artemis and Benjamin.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Emma Brungard.
