Obsequies Held For Mrs. Bowe

Little Rock - A Requiem Mass was offered in St. Bartholomew Church here May 17 for Mrs. Cedric Bowe who died in St. Vincent Infirmary May 14 after a long illness. The Rev. Lawrence Friedel, S.V.D., officiated at the Mass and gave the homily.

Pupils of the fifth, sixth, seventh and eight grades of St. Bartholomew School assisted at the Mass. They sang Liturgical songs under the direction of Sister Therisene, S.Sp.S.

A Rosary service was conducted in Dubisson Chapel the evening preceding the funeral.

Mrs. Bowe was the former Carlene Preyer, daughter of the last Virgel and Marie Hart Preyer. She was born in Little Rock, April 8, 1922. She attended St. Bartholomew School and was a graduate of Dunbar High School, Philander Smith College and the Arkansas Law School. Her last employment was as secretary at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Little Rock.

Survivors include her husband, Cedric Bowe; a daughter, Marie Angela Bowe; and two brothers, Virgel H. Preyer and Emanuel Preyer.

Pallbearers were John R. Gillam, Elihu B. Moore, James R. Booker, Roscoe Sharp, Harry S. Williams, B. Curtis Johnson and A. J. Washington. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
