Former Alaskan Regina M. Corkran, 85, died of heart failure Nov. 26, 1995, at home in Great Falls, Mont. A funeral was at St. Gerard's Catholic Church in Great Falls with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Corkran was born May 29, 1910, in Three Buttes Community near Sidney, Mont. In 1932, she was married to Lee ''Corky'' Corkran in Sidney. Mrs. Corkran attended a country school in Three Buttes Community and Sacred Heart Academy in Missoula, Mont. She graduated from Sidney High. Her husband followed construction projects with the Montana State Department of Highways, the U.S. Corps of Engineers, Birch and Sons Construction Co., McLaughlin Inc., and Morrison Knudson, living in Montana, North Dakota, Washington and Alaska. Mrs. Corkran once said that she made more than 60 different places into homes while following the construction business. In each community where she resided, she was involved with the altar societies. While living in Anchorage, she was one of the founders of Bishop's Attic thrift store. She was a trustee of Elks Emblem Club. She also was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church and was a Jolly Gerardian. Mrs. Corkran enjoyed being a homemaker and staying in contact with family and friends. In 1975, she moved to Great Falls.
She is survived by her sons, Leland of Fairbanks and John of Potomac, Mont.; sisters and their spouses, Odile and Dan Pintz of Sidney, Stella and Bob McCormick of Shelby, Mont., Azalia Butka of Sidney, Jeannette and Merle Larson of Saratoga, Calif., Alice and James Brown of Great Falls, and Joan and Edward Conlin of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Cecelia Kreis and Helene Murray, and three brothers, Ulric, George and Paul Prevost. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Gerard's Catholic Church, 2211 N. Fifth Ave., Great Falls 59401; Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch or charity of choice. Arrangements were handled by O'Connor Funeral Home in Great Falls.
