CORYDON DEMOCRAT OBITUARY – 07/23/1930
Mrs. Mary Theresa Geswein, wife of Frank Geswein, died Monday evening about seven o'clock at their home near Lanesville. She gave birth to twin sons recently, both dying a few days apart. It is thought she suffered a stroke of apoplexy about a week ago, and was unconscious from that time until the end. She was born August 9, 1897 and was thirty-two years, eleven months and twelve days of age. She was born near Lanesville and spent her life in that community. She was the daughter of the late George Pressler and Mrs. Rosa Shickel. The deceased was born the day of her father's death. Funeral services will be held this (Wednesday) morning at eight thirty o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church of which she was a member conducted by Rev. Smith, assistant priest of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, of Corydon. Burial was in the church cemetery. Besides her husband she leaves four sons, Earl, George, Joseph and Francis Geswein. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Rosa Shickel, a half brother, Raymond Shickel, and a stepbrother, Herman Shickel, of Lanesville, and a stepsister, Mrs. Josephine Eve, of New Albany.
