Betty Mae Bindhamer, 92, of Bloomington, passed away at Bell Trace Health and Living Center on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. She was born July 18, 1920 in Terre Haute to William and Lela (Powell) Prentice. She was a 1939 graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute. Betty worked as a typing supervisor for Columbia Records. She was a member of Lifeway Baptist Church, was secretary for Ambassadors for Christ, supported many missionaries, served as a Sunday School Teacher for 53 years, and enjoyed reading and puzzles.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Winchester (John) of Wheaton, IL, and Cathy Smith (Bob) of Bloomington; two sisters, Norma Frump (John) and Helen Curley (Kenneth) both of Terre Haute; two grandchildren, Denise Schmidt (David) and Leslee Bell (Jeff); four great grandchildren, Lauren and Garrison Bell and Gracelyn and Marissa Schmidt; and five step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother William Prentice, and two stepchildren Darlene Stevens and Dean Bindhamer.
Funeral services will be held at 12pm, Friday, August 24, 2012 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Von Bokern will officiate. A committal service will follow at 2:30pm at Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute. Friends may call from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
