Louise Babcock-Arquitt, 94, 133 Pratt Street, formerly of Adams, New York went home to be with her Lord on April 3, 2012. She was a resident of Samaritan Keep Home and prior to that, Curtis Apartments.

She was born June 6, 1917 in Norwood, NY to George F. and Minnie (Paradee) Prentice. She was educated in the Watertown School District.

Louise married Willis (Bill) Babcock on March 18, 1933 at the Parsonage of the First Baptist Church, Watertown, NY. They lived at Green Settlement and moved to Adams, NY. Mr. Babcock died November 1973.

On June 23, 1984, Louise married William (Bill) Arquitt at the Lebanon Baptist Church. They began their married life in Adams, NY, moved several times, and their last residence was in Bernhards Bay, NY. Mr. Arquitt died September 1999.

Louise began her working career in the mid 1940's selling Stanley Home Products and Tupperware. She also worked at the former Globe Store in Watertown, NY and the former Flah's in Syracuse, NY. She worked at JC Penny, Watertown, NY for over 25 years, retiring in 1988.

Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading her bible and novels, watching TV, and visiting with her many friends and family.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Beverly Remington, Watertown, a stepdaughter, Joanne (Chuck) Spencer, Carthage, NY, a stepson, Paul (Pat) Arquitt, Carthage, NY, a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Babcock, Bernhards Bay, NY, and a daughter-in-law, Angie Babcock, Wyoming.

Louise was predeceased by 2 sons, George and William Babcock.

Special thanks to Pastor Jeff Smith and 5th floor staff at Samaritan Keep for their care and compassion. Louise will be loved and missed by her friends and family.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 21 at 1:30 pm at Forest Cemetery, St. Regis Falls. Pastor Jeff Smith of First Baptist Church will be officiating.
