The many friends of the Prentice family in Wray were saddened to learn of the sudden death of Blance Prentice Ainslie which occurred in a Denver hospital on Thursday, January 11. Mrs. Ainslie was a native daughter of Yuma County and was widely known in Laird and wray and the surrounding country. She was highly respected for her many virtues and excellent traits of character.
She was born October 29, 1888 and was the eldest daughter of B.D. Prentice. She grew from childhood to womanhood in Laird. At the death of her mother in October, 1908, she assumed the responsibility of caring for her father's household and was a dutiful daughter, a kind and loving sister to those left in her charge.
In November 1910, she was united in marriage to Allen H. Ainslie and since that time resided in Denver. The funeral was held from the Laird M.E. Church, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Burnett of Haigler and interment was made in Grandview Cemetery at Wray.
