Mrs. Carrie Myers Premer, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Myers, died at the home of her parents, west of Polk, Sunday at 3 p.m., May 3rd.
She was the wife of Mr. Harvey Premer who, with their little son, about two years old, survives her.
The cause of her death was that dread disease, consumption, but she bore her sickness as only a Christian can. Carrie was a good girl, a kind and obedient daughter, and a loving wife and mother. she will be missed not only by her family but by the community and all who knew her for she was good and kind to all. She lived a beautiful Christian life and was ready to meet her God. What a consolation and comfort to the husband, parents and brother, to know that she died in the hope of a blessed immortality. She made complete arrangements for her funeral which were fully carried out. Before her spirit left its house of clay for Heaven she called all her friends around her bed and exhorted them, as only one who is having a glimpse of heaven could, to meet her in heaven. Then when every thing had been done she sang with her last strength "Home, Sweet Home."
Two brothers preceded her to the great beyond--Ellsworth, who died a few years ago was the oldest in the family and Cloyd was the youngest, who died a few years before Ellsworth. By her request the funeral was conducted by Rev. W. A. Wiley, one of her school teachers, and Rev. Harris, her former pastor, she being a member of the Lutheran Church for a number of years. She was 23 years, 6 months and 24 days old. She was laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery at Nankin Tuesday, May 5. She is now safe in the arms of Jesus, safe on His tender breast."
