YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church for Mrs. Vivian L. Allie Green who departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Briarfield Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Green was born Oct. 25, 1929, in McKees Rocks, Pa., a daughter of Hubert and Iva McDonald Praytor.
She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member, having served as the Pastor's aide, was vice president of the Deaconess Ministry, vice president of Missionary Ministry, trustee board and Senior Choir. She was a former member of Silver Chapter No. 4 Order Eastern Star. Vivian loved cooking for her family and friends, and she especially loved serving the Lord.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, John (Sandra) Allie III of Youngstown, Deacon Andre (Michelle) Allie Sr. of Warren and Franklin Allie of Akron; two daughters, Kandi Smith of Youngstown, Judith (Rev. Clifford) Kimbrough of Boardman; one granddaughter, Minister Antoinette (Benjamin) Hodo of Akron, whom she reared; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Katherine Henderson of Youngstown and Mary Metcalf of Detroit; a special sister, Sarah Phillips; two stepdaughters, Renee Jackson and Yvonne Smith, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Allie Jr. and Robert Green; three sisters, Juanita Martin, Wanda Eubanks and Marilyn Praytor; two brothers Hubert Jr. and William W. Praytor; and one great-grandson, Terrell.
Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
