Ruby P. Bloodsworth

Ruby P. Bloodsworth, 97 of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday September 15, 2005 at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge.

She was born at Wingate on December 8, 1907 and was a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Archie Jones Powley.

Mrs. Bloodsworth attended schools at Wingate and Crapo. On May 31, 1925 she was married to Marcie W. Bloodsworth.

Together they operated Bloodsworth's Grocery at Crocheron until 1972. Mr. Bloodsworth passed away on March 30, 1999.

She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church at Crocheron and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Mrs. Bloodsworth had been a resident at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge for almost a year when she passed away on Thursday evening.

She is survived by a son Morris W. Bloodsworth and his wife Malinda R. Bloodsworth of Cambridge, one sister Roberta Jones of Cambridge, a brother Reginald Powley of Wingate and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 3:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Lloyd Massey officiating.

Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, C/O Mrs. Mary Todd, General Delivery, Crocheron, MD 21627.

Pallbearers will be N. Curtis Bloodsworth, Edwin Todd, Calvin Windsor, Thomas Holotik, Earl Todd and George L. Murphy.
