Agnes "Powell" Blankenship PRINCETON — Agnes "Powell" Blankenship, 59, of Princeton, formerly of Iaeger, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Princeton Community Hospital after a battle with cancer.

Born December 10, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Lilly Powell.

In addition to her parents, two brothers, D.L. Powell and Herman Powell; and one stepson, Dewayne Blankenship preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Jamie Blankenship and wife Lisa of Princeton, Dean Baker and wife Denise of Lexington, N.C.; three daughters, Angelia M. Blankenship and fiancé John K. Walker of Princeton, Patty L. Belcher and husband Joseph of North Tazewell, Va. and Donna Stanley and husband Timmy of Denton, N.C.; six grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Powell and wife Rachael of Iaeger, and Ray Powell and wife Kathy of Bartley; three sisters, Inos Hart and husband Bill, Opal Collins and husband Jerry all of Iaeger, and Rosie Davis and husband Tommy of Hiddenite, N.C.; 22 nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Rita Workman and Carol Thompson both of Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Church of God-High Knob on Coon branch Road in Iaeger with Pastor Larry Bailey and Pastor Paul Umstutz, both of Princeton, officiating. Burial will follow at the Powell Family Cemetery on Coon branch Mountain in Iaeger. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. on today (Thursday), August 30, 2007 and one hour before the service on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Church of God-High Knob in Iaeger.
