Biographical Rosters - Vol II, p.662; "(b. 1838) enlisted 4/2/62 at Mt. Vernon and was appointed 3rd Cpl 1/25/63. He was left behind and captured 7/3/63 near Elk River TN. He died of small pox 5/11/64 at Camp Douglas prison and was buried in the prison cemetery."
