OBIT. - Mrs. Nona P. Powell, 64 years old, widow of Frank Powell of Clarence, passed away in Kansas City, Mo., at 1:30 Thursday morning, Nov. 26, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Noel. She had been ill ever since a paralytic stroke two weeks ago.
The body was removed to Clarence Thursday evening by the Hamilton funeral directors and was taken to the Merrill Albright home and lie in state until the funeral from the Christian church at 2:30 Saturday afternoon. Burial was in Maplewood cemetery.
Formerly Miss Nona Post, Mrs. Powell was reared in Monroe county, but spent practically her entire married life in Clarence where Mr. Powell was a plumber. He died in January, 1927. Mrs. Powell had maintained her own home her until recently. She was a member of the Christian church.
Mrs. Powell has three daughters, Mrs. Harry Bragg of Albia, Ia., Mrs. Harold Jones of Erie, Pa., and Mrs. Ed Noel of Kansas City; two sons, Joe P. Powell of Quincy, and Merrill Powell of Peoria. A daughter, Mrs. Bert Janes, preceded her mother in death, October 2.
