Wilma Jean Dillman, 80, of St Charles, MO, formerly of New London, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Mrs Dillman had been a resident of Mount Carmel Senior Living in St Charles.
Graveside services were at 1:30 pm Friday, May 20, at Grand View Burial Park, with the Rev. Jay Stinson officiating. Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, Hannibal, was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs Dillman was born October 30, 1930, in Hannibal to Robie and Mary Powell. She married Melvin Dillman, February 14, 1956, in Hannibal and he preceded her in death, March 14, 2005.
Survivors include two daughters, LaRhonda (Danny) Behl and Ronda (Eric) Genovese, both of New London; a son, Jeff Dillman of St Charles; five grandchildren, Brandon Lain, Eric Genovese, Jr, Dylan Behl, Danielle Behl and Dawson Behl; three brothers, Donnie (Norma) Powell, of Philadelphia, Ronnie (Maxine) Powell and Richard Powell, both of Warren; and a sister, Mary Botkins of Monroe City. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and special friends, Jeff Worth and Joyce Stoker, both of St Charles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Rosie Stolberg, and a brother, Jack Powell.
Mrs Dillman was an accomplished seamstress and operated Jean's Sewing from hr home. She often made wedding dresses and gowns, quilts and wedding floral arrangements. Wilma Jean was truly appreciated for her skills to repair garments. She was a member for many years of New London First Baptist Church and a graduate of Hannibal High School. Mrs Dillman loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed her time at Mount Carmel Senior Living and always looked forward to playing bingo.
Memorials may be made to the New London First Baptist Church in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Pallbearers were Danny Behl, Eric Genovese, Brandon Lain, Eric Genovese, Jr., Jeff Worth and Dylan Behl.
