Richard Pounder is not buried at the Pounders Cemetery. His true burial site is unknown. The pictured military marker was placed in the Pounders Cemetery by Mae Lee Pounders as a memorial to her great-great-great grandfather. Details were published on page 3-A of the FRANKLIN COUNTY TIMES, Russellville, Alabama on Wednesday, April 4, 1979. I spoke with Mae Lee Pounders a couple of times and she said that she did not know where Richard was buried. Mae Lee believed he died and was buried somewhere in Tennessee. Ceyburn Pounders
