Ila Poulsen Coon died peacefully on May 19 of age-related conditions. She was 94 years old. She was born at home in Magna on March 6,1918. She was the oldest of nine children born to James Hyrum and Mabel Collings Poulsen. She married Gordon W. Coon on July 2, 1937. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1998. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. She retired from West Elementary School as a "lunch room lady." She is survived by her children Lynda and Dave Childs, Kevin and Jolynn Coon and Gary and Jeanne Coon, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is survived by one brother and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, one sister, daughter and granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at Tate Mortuary on May 24 at 11 a.m. Viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the Tooele City Cemetery.
