Mrs. Ayers was born Oct. 26, 1914, in Sandwich, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Pearl (Darnell) Potter. She attended schools in Sandwich and graduated from Sandwich High School with the Class of 1933.
On June 20, 1934, she married Charles J. "Chick" Ayers at her parents home in Sandwich. She and her husband owned and operated Ayers Electric in Morris for over 50 years. She enjoyed baking, collecting teddy bears and dolls, traveling, her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ayers was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a past deacon, Morris Country Club, and was a former member of F.O.E. #1024 Happy Hill Aerie Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene (Albert) Weinreich, Seneca and Kay (Donald) Morris, Plainfield; four grandsons, Willy (Lisa) Weinreich, Wesley (Carrie) Weinreich, both of Seneca, Chuck (Janet) Morris, Plainfield and Tom (Cherie) Morris, Naperville; nine great-grandchildren, Dustin, Amy, Erica and Jacob Weinreich and Kaitlyn, Hannah, Zach, Ryan and Chloe Morris; and two nieces, Karen and Rena.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 16, 1987; one son in infancy; one sister, Gertrude "Trudy" Fowler.
Age 91 years.
