Nancy Jane Potter Kistler, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to meet her Savior on Friday, May 1, 2015.

Nancy was born at Fort Huachuca, AZ, where her Father served as a Medical Corps officer in the US Army. As a “military brat”, she lived all over the United States and in many foreign countries.

Her worldwide adventure continued with her husband, Colonel (RET) Thomas Kistler, a Medical Service Corps officer, who served 34 years in the Army. She raised her two boys, Brad and Greg, while juggling household moves as variant as Okinawa, Japan and Heidelberg, Germany.

While raising her family, she was active in Cub Scouts, Military-Civilian Clubs and Military Wives Clubs. Upon their retirement, Nancy was active in many community groups, such as the Bel Meade Garden Club and Bel Meade Homes Association, as well as the Fort Sam Houston Thrift Shop.

Nancy produced the most beautiful gardens in her backyard, and enjoyed walking her dogs and swimming in her pool. Her greatest joys, however, were her sons, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was known to feed them dessert first and take them to the San Antonio Zoo and the Witte Museum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, MG Laurence and Evelyn Potter, brother Laurence Potter III and sister Linda Potter Caulk. She is survived by her loving husband, Colonel (RET) Thomas E. Kistler, son W. Bradley Kistler and wife Clara, son Gregory Kistler and wife Irene, and grandchildren Gregory Laurence Kistler, Jr. and Katharine Kistler. She will also be missed by her brother and his wife, Michael and Sue Potter, and their children Steven Potter and Lauren Potter Oliver, as well as niece Melissa Caulk Badorine and nephew Scott Caulk.

On Monday, May 4th, visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough.

Tuesday, May 5th at 10:15 AM, a graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery
