"JESUS LOVED TO TAKE OUR DEAR HUSBAND AND GOOD FATHER HABBE H. POST HE WAS BORN IN THE YEAR OF 1877 IN ZWISCHENMOOREN BY AURICH-OLDENDORF, OSTFRIESLAND. THERE HE WAS BAPTIZED AND CONFIRMED. IN THE YEAR OF 1894 HE CAME TO AMERICA. IN THE YEAR 1903 HE MARRIED MARY BUSKE. THEY HAD 12 CHILDREN, ONE OF THEM DIED AS A SMALL CHILD, AND A SON, AS A SOLDIER, FOUND HIS DEATH IN THE NORMANDY INVASION. SURVIVED BY A BROTHER, AND TWO SISTERS IN THE OLD COUNTRY. HE DIED FEB. 14 IN THE LUTHERAN HOSPITAL IN FORT DODGE, IOWA. THE FUNERAL WAS AT THE FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH IN GILMORE CITY, IOWA, AND OFFICIATED BY THE PASTOR H. H."
Habbe died of an heart attack in the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
HABBIE HARMS POST WAS MARRIED TO Anna Maria (Mary) Buske ON FEB. 4, 1903. They had the following children in order: John Post, Albert Post, Ben Post, Herman Post, Minnie (Post) Hanssen, William Post, Gerd Post, Fred Post, Robert Post, Marie (Post) Martin, Raymond Post, and Harvey Post.
Habbe and Mary Post lived on a farm South West of Gilmore City in Pocahontas County. Their farm is located on the West side of the road from the Nort West corner of Lizard Lake. They farmed their whole lives there.
