Funeral services for Lowita Ann Barrios of Amity will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in the chapel at Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Otterlei will officiate.
Interment will be conducted at the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Cemetery.
Mrs. Barrios died of cancer at the Legacy Hopewell House Hospice Center in Portland on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008. She was 49.
Born in Kenosha, Wis., on Dec. 26, 1958, she was the daughter of Riley S. and Alice M.K. (Surprenant) Porter. A member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, she had recently moved to Amity from McMinnville.
She worked as a cook at the Spirit Mountain Casino for seven years. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and making Indian dolls.
The family said she will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Barrios is survived by two daughters, Lupe Suarez of McMinnville and Brandie Long; a son, Tony Suarez of Otis; three sisters, Marilyn Palamar and Lynn Mitchum of Salem and Mary Beasley of Medford; three brothers, James Porter of Dallas, Michael Porter of Springfield and John Porter of Spokane; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
