Mrs. Martha Virginia Porter Pearce, age 88, a resident of Life Care Center of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pearce conducted at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Rev. Davis Chackaleckel officiating. Entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Nashville.
The Owensboro, KY, native was the daughter of the late James Arthur Porter and Mangoldie Lanham Porter.
She was the wife of the late Lonnis J. Pearce who preceded her in death in 1998.
Martha worked for Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) as a department manager and then became a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her children: David (Susan) Pearce of Spring Hill, Gary D. (Pat) Pearce of Valdosta, GA, Carolyn (Chuck) Keeter of Athens, AL and JoAnn (Terry) Berner of Lawrence, KS; two sisters: Rita Blakeley of Chesterton, IN and Hazel Irene Porter of Owensboro, KY; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
