Cheryl Porter, 60, of Canton, Pa., passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Manor Care Home North in Williamsport.

Cheryl Marie was born on July 3, 1952 in Troy, Pa. She was a daughter of Mable (Harris) and the late Arthur Bly Porter. She later worked at Paper Magic Corp. in Troy and Canton's Swayze Folding Box Company. Cheryl also assisted Jean Harman, who operated the Slender You Fitness Center in Canton.

Cheryl loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She was a tell-it-as-she-saw-it person and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. Cheryl was a talented baker and cook; her no-bake cookies will always be the best in the family. She also enjoyed chatting and playing games on her computer.

Surviving are her mother, Mable Shedden of Canton; four siblings, Peg (Rocky) Hartford of Shunk, Sheila Porter, Rich (Donna) Porter and Howard (Tami) Shedden all of Canton; an uncle and six aunts, Bud (Marge) Harris, Lila Thomas, Pearl Harris, Minnie Harris, Phyllis Harris, Marie Harris and Sharon Hulslander; four nephews, Richie Porter, Stacy Hartford, Rod (Amanda) Hartford and Paul Shedden; five nieces, Georgeanna (Chuck) Dunbar, Danielle Porter (Mike Greer), Nickie (Scott) Jennings, Sheila Shedden and Brenda Shedden; 11 great nieces and great nephews, Karlind Dunbar, Siarra (Josh) Gordon, Brianna Hartford, Maleigha Hartford, Emily Jennings, Jillaney Hartford, Gracie Shedden, Reilly Packard, Drake Dunbar, Austin Hartford and Leland Shedden; a great great niece, Lily Gordon; also many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Art Porter.

Calling hours are 12–2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Duane Taylor will be held at 2 p.m. followed by burial in Beech Flats Cemetery.
