Mary Nadine (Poor) Baker, age 78 daughter of William and Mary (Pelican) Poor was born August 21, 1933 in Licking, MO. She passed away April 8, 2012 at Houston House surrounded by her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bill Poor, Clyde Poor and Arthur Poor; sisters, Florence Hester, Eathel Poor, Lois Payne, Lurene Thompson, Maxine Autenrieth and Dorthea Stickel, also preceding her in death was an infant son Kelvin.
She is survived by her husband Ervin of Houston, one daughter Cassie Gay and husband Greg of Roseville, CA, two sons, Marty and wife Jeri of Houston and Wyn and wife Michelle of Wayne, West Virginia, seven grandchildren: Chris and Tye Gay, Lori Owen, Jacinda, Caleb, Bethany and Drew Baker; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mary was a member of the Church of Christ in Houston, MO. She was baptized at a young age and remained faithful throughout her years. She loved to sing and had a beautiful alto voice.
Mary who was known by most as "Granny" loved to cook. She was famous for her ham and peanut brittle.
She took notes at church. She wrote down everything and would "threaten" that you better be careful or she would make a "black mark" in her book by your name.
Mary was a wonderful wife, mother and "Granny". She will be missed by so many.
