Mr. Conley Polk of Baker's Crossing and Miss Della Helms of Goose Creek township were married last Sunday evening at 3 o'clock, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leander Helms. Rev. Franklin Helms of Concord performed the marriage service, in the presence of a number of friends of both bride and groom. The attendants were Mr. Vernon Helms and Miss Mattie Polk, Mr. Clayton Simpson and Miss Cora Helms. A number of useful presents were received. After the marriage Mr. and Mrs. Polk left for the home of the groom's father, Mr. M. A. Polk, where a delightful supper was served. The occasion was a lovely one and all present enjoyed themselves. Mr. Polk is a young man of business capacity and is a progressive farmer. Mrs. Polk is a young lady of noble character. They have hosts of friends who wish them much of life's sweetness. May their lives be one of length, happiness and prosperity.
