Adela Janie Poindexter, 68, of Greenville, South Carolina passed peacefully at her residence October 25, 2010. Janie was born Feb. 8, 1942 to the late Joe C. and Louise Tripp. In 1960 she married William Poindexter, a soldier in the U.S. Airforce. They spent the next 20 years traveling the United States and Europe. In the early 80's they retired with their 3 children to Woodville, TX. Her love of books lead her to open Janie's Book Nook in Woodville and Jasper. She was active in the Golden Triangle Writers Guild, receiving the honor of life time membership. She enjoyed countless hours with friends from the Tyler County CB Club. She also worked with the area Cancer Support Group. In 1995 they moved back to Greenville, where she was involved with several Post Polio groups. This was very dear to her heart as she had survived polio as a child only to be stricken with the effects of it again in her later years. She enjoyed visiting with new friends and reconnecting with old ones from all over the world via the Internet. She is survived by William, her loving husband of 50 years, and their children,Melissa and Barney Hall of Doucette, TX, Susan and Jay Fisher of Vidor, TX., Billy Joe Poindexter of Greenville, SC., Honorary daughter Lynn Falls of Greenville, SC. Five grandchildren and Five great grandchildren. Jeremy, Ashley, Jaedyn, Brody Hall of Nebraska. Autumn and Will Wornell of Doucette, TX. Travis, fiancee Hillary, Zoe and Cypress Coplen of Lumberton, TX. Skylynn Coplen of Lumberton, TX MyKayla Edwards of Liberty, SC. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her name to Solaris Hospice, 111 Smith Hanes Rd. Suite D, Greenville, SC 29607.
