Flora Martha Goodwin, 75, Union, died Friday, December 14, 2001, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington. She was born March 8, 1926, at Treloar, the daughter of Fred Poertner and wife Hilda, nee Thee. On January 14, 1956, she was united in marriage to Wilburn Goodwin at Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mrs. Goodwin worked as a laborer for the tent factory in New Haven, now known as American Recreation Products,and the Langenberg factory in Marthasville. She also worked as a greeter at the Washington Wal-Mart SuperCenter for four years. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Holstein. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, December 18, 1985. Mrs. Goodwin is survived by two sons, Ronald Ray Goodwin and wife Denise, Hermann, and Mark Goodwin,Warrenton; three daughters, Anna Marie Hurst and husband David, and Jacqueline Lehr and husband Jerry, all of St.Clair, and Pam Wood and husband Jim, Washington; 13 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, December 17, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Holstein, with Rev. Darryl Bockting officiating. Interment was in St. John's United Church of Christ Pinckney Cemetery, Marthasville. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are preferred.
The Goodwin family was served by Lichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville.
