Mrs. E. W. Rodgers, 87, of Montgomery died at a Houston, Texas hospital January 14, after an illness of several weeks. Final rites were conducted at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Winn Parish, in the Wheeling Community, January 16, with Southern Funeral Home in charge. Officiating was the Rev. M. L. Davis of Montgomery.
Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Lessie Garner of Montgomery, Mrs. Mildred R. Michell of Alexandria, Mrs. T. N. Gilcrease of Shreveport, and Mrs. A. L. Figuron [sic Figueron] of Lake Charles; three sons, Weymon Rodgers of Vivian, Earl Rodgers of Shreveport, and Ozzro Rodgers of Montgomery; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Mrs. Rodgers was a lifelong resident of Montgomery and a member of he Eastern Star and the Methodist Church.
