Evelyn Plummer Albertson, 83, of the 2300 block of Rodgers St., went to be with the Lord Aug. 11, 2005. A native of South Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Louise White Plummer and the wife of 62 years of the late Wilbur Woodrow "Dick" Albertson Sr. She retired as a clerk with the Chesapeake City Treasurer's Office with more than 20 years of service, and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian, a beloved mother and grandmother, an adored aunt and a friend to all. She never sought attention for herself, but shared her time, her talents and her possessions with all. She is survived by a daughter, and her husband, a son and his wife, a granddaughter, a grandson and his wife, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park with Rev. Gregory Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends at 2307 Rodgers Street, Chesapeake. Friends may sign the register book at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse, c/o Southside Baptist Church, 1207 Perry Street, Chesapeake, VA 23324.
