A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mary K. Player, 92, of Camden, SC, will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church. Reverend Danny Hedgepath and Reverend Joe Stines will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM in the Family Life Center prior to the service. Memorials in Mary’s memory may be made to Kershaw Health Hospice, 124 Battleship Road, Camden, SC 29020.

Mary, widow of Tillman Washington Player, died Friday, January 27, 2017. She was born in Laurinburg, NC, the daughter of the late William A. Giddens and Carrie Causey Giddens. Mary retired from the Hermitage Cotton Mill and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her son, Alvin J. Player (Elizabeth) of Camden; daughter Carliss Carter (Graham) of Camden; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grand children, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and her parents, Mary was predeceased by her son, Tillman W. “T. J.” Player, Jr., and seven brothers and sisters.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
