Joan "Of The Tower" Plantagenet
Birth: Jul. 5, 1321
Death: Aug. 14, 1362

Scottish Monarch. Queen consort of David II, King of Scots. Called "Joan (or Joanna) of the Tower", she was the daughter of Edward II and Isabella of France. She married David on July 17, 1328. He was 4, she was 7. They were crowned at Scone on November 24, 1331. She was popular with the people of Scotland, but theirs was a loveless and barren marriage. When her husband was released from his imprisonment, his infidelities prompted Joan's return to England, where she died at Hertford Castle at the age of 41. (bio by: Kristen Conrad)
