Mrs. Pamelia M. Hodgdon, a lifelong resident of this place and one of Ashland's best known ladies, died at the Hodgdon home on Thompson Street August 6. Funeral services were held at the Free Will Baptist Church Sunday afternoon. with Reverend Mr. Fowler assisted by the Reverend T.S Tyng, as the officiating clergymen. The members of Mt Hope Chapter O.E.S of which order Mrs Hodgdon was an enthusiastic member, attended the funeral in a body and performed their last rites over the body at the grave. Music was furnished by a quartette consisting of Mrs. Porter, Mrs Carey, Mr. Blake and M. Pattee. Mr. Blake also furnished an appropriate solo.

Mrs. Hodgdon was born in Holderness, now Ashland, January 20, 1838, and is the daughter of Eaton and Nancy (Merrill) Hodgdon. She was married 58 years ago to George Hodgdon. She had always been a lady whom everyone liked to meet and has been an enthusiastic worker in anything she undertook. She is survived by a husband, George Hodgdon and one daughter, Mrs. George Flanders, Christie. >The Ashland Citizen, August 14, 1915, p2.
