Chapel Services for H.W. "Dub" Pitzer were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Dean Dereg and Rev. Carl Thionnet, Burial followed in the Lawn View Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funneral Home.

H.W. Pitzer was born September 22, 1924 in Cordell, Oklahoma, to Noah C. and Sarah (Brazeal) Pitzer and died Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Integris Clinton Regional Hospital.

Dub was raised in Washita County, Oklahoma until he moved to Custer County in 1936 on the land that is now Foss Lake. He attended his schooling at Flynn and Edwardsville and later he graduated from Stafforf Schools in 1942. He volunteered to serve in the 501st Military Police Battalion as a sergeant, he served in Puerto Rico and Trinidad and was honorably discharged in December of 1946.

He married Oma June Garnett on October 12 1948. He was a life time farmer and a dairyman for over 25 years. He retired from farming in 1999.

He served 20 years on the Canute School Board and 30 years on the Foss Town Council as well as serving as Mayor of Foss for 28 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wendell Pitzer and Willard Pitzer and an infant sister, Oleta Pitzer
and son, Larry Wayne Pitzer.

Survivors include his wife, Oma June Pitzer of the home; a son, Keith Pitzer and wife, Donnita, of Foss; a daughter , Debora Glassgow and husband Neil, of Elk City; a sister, Nola Beth Edmonson, of Oklahoma City, OK; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

"DuB" Pitzer, son of Sarah Frances "Frankie" Brazeal Pitzer and Noah Coleman Pitzer, married Oma June Garnett, daughter of Chester Garnett and Della Rowe, October 12, 1948, at Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma, USA. Dub and Oma had three children: Larry Wayne Pitzer (1949-1966), Keith Allen Pitzer (1951- ), Deba Gale Pitzer (1957- ).
