WAKARUSA - Vera "Fern" Beehler, 95, of 65760 Dogwood Rd, Wakarusa, died unexpectedly of natural causes in her home, Wednesday morning. She was born October 11, 1915 in Madison township to Oliver and Eva Adeline Manges Pittman. She lived her lifetime in Madison township. She was a 1934 graduate of Madison Township High School.

On June 14, 1936, she married Clayton G. Beehler at her parent's home on Beech Rd. He preceded in death on January 25, 1993.

She was a homemaker, and had been a cook at Madison Township School for 28 years. She also sold Avon for 40 years and was a member of the President's Club. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Church and the Women's Missionary Society. She was very active in the Madison Township area. She volunteered for many years at Hubbard Hill and enjoyed playing games and traveling.

Mrs. Beehler is survived by her sons, Jerry R. (Lydia) Beehler, Cheboygan, MI, Fred L. Beehler, Muncie, grandchildren, Jeffrey C. (Christine) Beehler, Brisbane, Australia, Thomas R. Beehler and Jonathan D. (Abbey) Beehler, both of Chicago, Chad M. (Michelle) Beehler, Fishers, and Steffani E. (Terry) Bennett, Gaston, great grandchildren, Abigail Anne Beehler, Joshua David Beehler, Elle Woo Beehler, Clayton Russell Beehler, Garrett William Beehler, Emma Rose Beehler, and Braydon Michael Bennett.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Eldona Beehler, sisters, Dessie Truex, Addie Weldy, and Erma Sheets-Wise, and brothers, Herbert, Russell, and Lester Pittman.

Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa and for 1 hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service Monday at Oak Grove Missionary Church. Officiating will be Rev. Kevin Skaggs. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Oak Grove Missionary Church or to the Donor's choice.
