SANDERSVILLE, Ga. -Mrs. Cora Pittman Brown, age 87, of Highway 24 West in Sandersville, died Sunday morning January 20, in the Washington Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2002. The Rev. John King and Rev. Lovie Nix will officiate with burial in the Washington Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Keith Helton, James C. Brown Jr., Jerry Brown, Travis Hatcher, Ricky Glover and John Andres. Mrs. Brown was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Johnnie Dee Pittman and the late Carrie Idella Gladin Pittman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Olive Hill Baptist Church where she was the church clerk and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was the wife of the late Clemon C. Brown and the mother of the late James C. Brown Sr. Survivors include four daughters, Bobbie Brown Helton of Sandersville, Carol Hatcher and Martha Brown, both of Dublin and Dorothy Brown of Sandersville; seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
